  21. Today's  the day,  April the 13th 1994 (Wednesday) We've gone  and 
  22. done it again..
  23.  
  24. Or  to  be very specific,  Maggie issue 14 is now 100%  ready  for 
  25. release to the slavering jaws of an eager world.. (Whatever.)  
  26.  
  27. Inside,  various  attractions including an inside report from  the 
  28. ECTS  in  London,  several articles from the 'In the Nick of  Time 
  29. Men'  who  are Richard Davey of the Falcon Owners Group  and  Leon 
  30. O'Reilly  respectively..  Various fits of insanity from the editor 
  31. in chief,  CIH,  who also happens to be writing this at the moment 
  32. (8.30pm).. And loads more..
  33.  
  34. Sitting  close by is my trusty assistant and resident film  critic 
  35. Richard  (Felice),  and he is waiting for me to stop writing  this 
  36. drivel and let him get a copy of this issue as well..

  38. Greetings are being kept for inside the mag, and you will no doubt 
  39. find these if you are so greeted..
  40.  
  41.  --That Enhanced Diskzine shell, the story so far--
  42.  
  43. At  this  point in time,  there is a distinct possibility  of  TWO 
  44. separate  enhanced  shell  programs,  the  first of  these  is  an 
  45. adaption of the existing Delta Force shell, the second an entirely 
  46. new program being written for the Falcon Owners Group, who have no 
  47. use  for  it at present as they are a paper  maggie..  Any  orphan 
  48. diskzine shells from them will be of course welcomed here..
  49.  
  50. No firm promises as yet, as we are as sick as anyone of the regime 
  51. of  non-existent  vapourware  that  plagues  the  Atari  scene  so 
  52. greatly, but if either of these two projects come to anything, the 
  53. first  beneficiary  will be the long delayed  compilation  issue.. 
  54. This is presently at a semi-finished stage with the current  shell 
  55. code and should be with us in one form or another soon..

  57.  --Next Issue--

  59. Will probably be out late Summer/Early Autumn in order to give our 
  60. fevered little brains a rest, and to catch the wave of all the new 
  61. stuff that people are sure to produce in their long summer  breaks 
  62. from school or University..
  63.  
  64. This  could  change,  of  course,  if we are flooded by hordes  of 
  65. articles from dead keen third party writers in the meantime..
  66.  
  67. Right,  we've  got about ten minutes before Richard totally  loses 
  68. his cool and wants to start copying, what can we do now..
  69.  
  70. Uuuuuummmmmmmm..

  72. No, that's no good..
  73.  
  74. Aha,  yes, a couple more things.. Firstly, this is the first issue 
  75. of Maggie to go to release without a single ST game reviewed! This 
  76. worrying  state of affairs is entirely due to the  post  Christmas 
  77. games famine where a couple of months between new releases is  now 
  78. the  norm..  That  is not to say there aren't still new games  out 
  79. there,  and  the next issue of Maggie should redress the balance.. 
  80. Instead,  there are Falcon,  Lynx, a bit of Jaguar,  and even a PC 
  81. review,  albeit  a  PC game due to land on the Jaguar  soon..  The 
  82. emphasis  in  this issue of Maggie has been on  the  word  'Atari' 
  83. rather than 'ST',  and so it must be for the future, as one single 
  84. computer  or  machine  just  is not able  to  provide  enough  new 
  85. material to review.. (Although Jaguar could change that back..)
  86.  
  87. Secondly,   it  is  our  fourth  anniversary  issue...   Who  says 
  88. persistence doesn't pay!!
  89.  
  90. With that,  I think it is time to go, having done enough damage to 
  91. the good name of disk magazines once more..
